Companion Exchanges and Baptism Preparation

This week was good. Not too many exciting things though. We have had a lot of free time for inviting this week.

On Thursday we watched a training for our mission. It was actually in Bangkok, but we watched a recording of it. It was good and had a lot of good things in it to help us be better teachers and missionaries.

Friday I had to conduct my first baptismal interview. It was for the Sister’s investigator. So that was fun.

Our investigator, Sister Mo, is doing great and is progressing really well. She will get baptized this Sunday. The Sister’s investigator who I interviewed will also get baptized this Sunday so that is really exciting.

The three recent converts are all still doing really well, also. On Saturday we had a companion exchange for a day. So I was with Elder Smith-Driggs. We know each other pretty well since we were both in Lao together. So that was a lot of fun.

Sunday was also good. It was Branch Conference so we had a lot of leaders come in.

Last week we went ice skating. It was really fun. This week some friends from a previous area, Thanawut and Luck, came up to visit me and Elder Bouwmeester. He is serving in the same zone as me right now so we all met up in Udorn.

Well that is about it for this week.

Staying in Khon Kaen

Well we are at the start of a new transfer. This transfer, nothing happened here. Our whole district is staying the same. So I am really excited for another 6 weeks here in Khon Kaen.

Last Monday we were in Laos visiting members, it was a great day. They are all still doing great. We got to go to a few houses and then we got to go to a Family Home Evening at one of the members houses it was a great day.

Tuesday was pretty eventful we had to travel long and far. First because we had to get back from our Laos trip then as soon as we got back to Khon Kaen before we could even drop our stuff off at home we had to get on a new bus and travel out to our investigators mom's funeral. That was way far away and we didn't end up making it back until like 6 at which point we had to speedily prepare our English class. English went well and we ate dinner after wards and finally got home at 9:00.

Wednesday and Thursday we had left open in case we had to go to Bangkok for Transfers nothing happened there we still got to meet with some of our investigators. We also had a lot of free time for contacting and other stuff.

Nothing all that special Friday or Saturday either; just normal meeting people and teaching the gospel. Summer, Sky and Oom were confirmed yesterday so they are all officially members of the church.

Things are going well with Mo. We had to move her baptismal date to the 26th. She was going to get baptized yesterday but then she has testing for High School next Sunday so we moved her date to the 26th so she can be baptized and then confirmed the following Sunday. She has become good friends with one of the sister’s investigators and they have the same baptismal date now, so that will be really good. They will help each other out.
These pictures are of one of the foods we make for ourselves. It is a ramen sandwich. We start with a block of ramen noodles and break an egg into it. Then we fry it in a pan and put it between two slices of toast.

It is the image of health and deliciousness. J

Baptisms

I don’t have too much time today because we have to go to Laos to visit members but this week was really great.

We had a nice switch off with the Zone Leaders and we had 4 people interviewed by them for their baptisms. They all were prepared for their baptisms and had no problems with their interviews. Yesterday Summer, Sky and Oom were baptized. It was a great day. We also had 56 people at church which is a new high. I really want to break 60 people at some point. That would be awesome. Our companionship also had 12 investigators at church so we are seeing some miracles here.

I know that mom was concerned about my clothes getting clean after my service project last week and my adventure in the pond. Well, my clothes did get clean. My CTR tie however did not make it.

That’s all I have time for as we need to leave for Laos but I will send some extra pictures to make up for the short email.
